Hey! I'm

OINDRILA HALDAR

Turning Pixels into Insights and Machines into Geniuses

Who am I?

Who am I? Well, if Descartes were here, he might say, "I think, therefore I am." But let's not dive into philosophy just yet!

I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Signal Processing at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, where I am part of the Spectrum Lab under the mentorship of Prof. Chandra Sekhar Seelamantula. My research focuses on Image Processing, Computer Vision, and Machine Learning.

My Journey

A journey of filling the empty pages in my book.

Qualcomm, Hyderabad

Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd.

Interim Engineering Intern

I collaborated with the ML Model Development Team on a project focused on removing reflections from human eyeglasses. The team, along with my managers, were incredibly helpful and welcoming.

IISc, Bangalore

Master of Technology (M.Tech.)

Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore

2023 - 2025

Signal Processing, CGPA:8.9/10

Was a dream come true for me.

Beyond the joy of getting admission into one of India's premier institutes was the immense pleasure of learning from such exceptional professors and engaging with such brilliant minds.

Here are some of the courses I have completed so far.

  1. 1st Semester: Matrix Theory, Random Processes, Linear and Non-linear Optimization, Digital Image Processing, Time Frequency Analysis
  2. 2nd Semester: Pattern Recognition and Neural Netowrks, Detection and Estimation, Advanced Image Processing, Signal Processing in Practice

During my 1st year summer break, I got the oppurtunity to do an Internship at Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd..

Projects taken up here:

  • Beyond The Canvas Of One: Expanding The Horizons Of Single-Image Generation

The project implements the Enhanced SinGAN model, a robust and versatile version of the original SinGAN model (Shaham et al., ICCV, 2019). The Enhanced SinGAN is designed to be less sensitive to input image quality, enabling it to generate clean images even from noisy inputs by introducing Total Variational Loss.

  • Exploring The Impact Of Image Pre-Processing On Human Face Detection In Poor Quality Images

Here, we explored the effect of different pre-processing techniques such as image denoising, deblurring, and contrast enhancement on face detection performance using the Haar classifier.

Bachelor of Engineering(B.E.)

Jadavpur University

2019 - 2023

Electrical Engineering, CGPA:9.45/10

Starting my journey as an engineering student at Jadavpur University was an eye-opener. The vibrant culture and constant buzz of academic and extracurricular activities created an enriching environment. Moreover the new found freedom, away from home and the sense of being a grown up along with the coursework helped me develop as a human being.

Some of the courses that I studied here are:

Internships and projects undertaken here:

  • Summer Undergraduate Researcher
    Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur

Project: Covolutional Neural Networks for Visual Recognition
Here, I worked under the guidance of Dr. Ketan Rejawat of Department of Electrical Engineering on a project titled, Convolutional Neural Networks for Visual Recognition. The project was my introduction to the world of computer vision. I focused on developing and refining models for image classification, generation, and annotation, which provided me with a solid foundation in computer vision techniques.
  • Summer Undergraduate Intern
    Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati

    Project: Consensus of Multi-agent Systems
I had the chance to dive into the fascinating world of consensus algorithms in multi-agent systems, thanks to Dr. Chayan Bhawal. Our project, Consensus of Multi-agent Systems, explored how multiple agents agree on certain values or states. We looked at two main algorithms: the fundamental consensus and the leader-follower approach. We also played around with different types of communication setups, like fixed topologies and scenarios where communication might be delayed. It was a deep dive into how these algorithms work and how they can be applied in real-world scenarios!
  • Dynamics of a Quadrotor

This project deals with the dynamics and control of a quadrotor in a predefined path using MATLAB and Simulink.
